I spent quite a bit of time getting out all the Christmas decorations the week of Thanksgiving. It always seems like so much work to get it all out and then the thought of having to take it all down a few weeks later seems even worse. BUT, I have to admit how much I absolutely LOVE having the house all decorated. I enjoy walking around the house and catching glimpses of twinkle lights, and other Christmas decorations. So, I thought I would share a few of my favorite Christmas things:
- My Willow Tree Nativity. It was given to me by my grandma and mother-in-law! They worked together to make sure I got every piece. I love it! I love putting it out each year and enjoy walking past it a hundred times a day. It's so beautiful and so peaceful looking.
- Our Christmas Village. Paul's mom collected village pieces for many years and when Paul and I were first married she would give us a new piece each year for Christmas so we could start our own collection. They are a lot of work to get out and set up, but once they're up, we all enjoy them. The kids love looking at them and peering into the windows of each little house and shop. They also love helping put out the accessories and other little things that go with the village. Right now we have to keep our village up high where little hands can't quite reach it, but one day I would love having our village all set up under the Christmas tree. It's a fun Christmas tradition!
- Christmas books! I love children's books. Any kind of children's books. So, it has been super fun to collect children's Christmas books. One of my favorites??? It has to be Mr. Willowby's Christmas Tree. My grandma McMullin had this book and read it to us an endless number of times when we were children. The book reminds me so much of her and the story is classic. The book was hard to find, but the year before my grandma passed away she helped me find it. It has been such a fun book to share with my kids. Sure to be one of their favorites too!
It is hard to slow down during the Holiday season, but I love coming home to our warm home all decorated for Christmas. What could be better??

I love all of your favorite things! Brynn keeps asking to play with Sydney--maybe sometime during the break? She wants to go to the gym Monday morning--maybe they can see each other there?
I haven't ever read that book! I will have to get it soon! Love all the decorations. It was so good to run with you again today! It's been a long time!
That book is my favorite too. I remember Grandma reading it to us more than once each Christmas Season. Last year I actually searched and searched and finally found it. I now have it in my Chrismas book collection!
