*Sydney was awarded the SUPER SCHOLAR award in November. She's an excellent student. She LOVES school and her teacher, Mrs. Haun. We're so proud of her!
*McKay performed in his first Piano Recital. He did really well. Paul and I were both kind of shocked with how calm McKay was. He loves the piano and we never have to ask him to practice. It's been fun to watch him do so well at something he really enjoys.
*We celebrated Christmas Eve at Paul's parents home with family. We enjoyed good food, games, a live nativity with the grandchildren, and 20 mini remote control cars zooming around. It was a great night. Remote control car explanation: Paul's dad usually purchases 2 cans of silly string for every member of the family. We then head outdoors and have a GIGANTIC Christmas Eve silly string fight! But, this year, he surprised us with mini remote control cars that we raced all over the tiles floors in their home. It was quite entertaining and a total blast.
*Christmas morning was so fun. We invited Paul's parents to come over to watch the kids open their gifts. McKay and Syd were up by 7:30 a.m. and we woke Hailey up around 8:00. Then we let the kids into the living room to see if Santa had stopped by. To our surprise he had and the kids were very excited with the presents Santa had left for them. McKay - a Star Wars Lego set, Sydney - an American Girl doll, and Hailey - a little kitchen! Hailey's been cooking us quesadillas and hot chocolate ever since.
We've had a wonderful 2009! I can't believe we are already 5 days into the new year! We're looking forward to Hillary and Colby's baby coming any day, and lots of other exciting adventures in 2010!
