Backpacking to Havasupai

I had the opportunity to backpack into Havasupai with our Teacher and Priest Quorums this week. As the 1st counselor in the bishopric, I was told that I was expected to be there! I am glad that I went, because it was a blast. I enjoyed hanging out with the other leaders and the young men from our ward. Amazingly, I am not even sore from the 20 mile round trip hike. I guess I can attribute that to all of my hard work at the gym over the past few months. All in all, it was a great experience to see the beauty of the crystal clear water falls and the Supai village.

This is a view of the Havasu Falls. We had a great time climbing up the rock face behind the waterfall and then jumping into the pool right in the middle of the waterfall.

This is a view of Mooney Falls from the top of the trail overlooking the canyon. This water fall is about 3/4 of a mile below the campground area.

This is me at the base of Mooney Falls. Mooney Falls has a vertical drop of about 200 feet.

This is a picture of the trail coming up out of Mooney Falls. The hike into Mooney Falls is not for everyone! You climb on the face of the cliff using chains as your support. It is well worth the short hike to see this amazing water fall!
