Saying Good-bye to Summer!

Well, we started the summer with an injury, Hailey's broken arm, and we'll end the summer with a fine injury! This week McKay cut a huge gash in the back of his head. One hour at the Emergency Room and 7 staples later, we were good to go. When the ER doc said McKay couldn't swim for the next 10 days, I just had to laugh! Between Hailey's broken arm and now McKay's head, we've had one interesting summer. Luckily we've had a little bit of fun during the few weeks between injuries. Here's what we enjoyed during our injury free phase...

*McKay & Syd completed another successful session of swimming lessons.

*A day at the garden, watering and picking delicious veggies!
*A few days at Lake Powell - one of our favorite summer traditions! By the way, I have to mention that we got little Hailey up on the training skis. It was hilarious! She had no clue what was going on, but she stayed up for a minute or so before going down. I didn't get a picture because both Paul and I were on the Wave Runner pulling her...

*A fun 24th of July spent in Enterprise. Lunch at Marv's then the foot races at the park. Later that evening we lit fireworks with the Wittwers and celebrated Ivy's 13th birthday! It was a really fun day.

We managed to make it to a splash pad once and to the City Pool a few times this summer and we also got in a little back-to-school shopping. Now we're ready for Thursday - the first day of school! I'm not sure where the summer went - it seems like it went by too quickly. I can't believe we're beginning another school year!! McKay is ready for 3rd grade and Syd is gearing up for a FULL DAY at school now that she'll be in 1st grade. Hailey and I might not know what to do with ourselves having everyone else gone all day, but I'm sure we'll manage!
