THANKFUL THURSDAY (On Friday!)

Because yesterday was the 24th of July, we were not home for most of the day. We had a good time doing our usual 24th traditions: a primary parade followed by the ward breakfast, a ride to Enterprise where we enjoyed a yummy lunch and then foot races at the park, and then back to Pine Valley where we enjoyed the cooler weather and had a barbecue with the fam. We made it back last night just in time to light off a few fireworks with the neighbors and enjoy a little ice cream treat!

So, because I was not home much yesterday, I am doing a Friday's edition of Thankful Thursday!

Things I am thankful for:
-My grandparents. I get to enjoy eating Sunday dinner with my grandpa Mc every other week! He is the perfect grandpa. I love sharing stories with him around the dinner table. My grandpa has had an amazing life and I love to hear about some of the wonderful things he has done and accomplished! It has been almost one year since my grandma Mc passed away and I miss her everyday. Being up at my grandparent's cabin yesterday made my heart ache! My grandma loved Pine Valley. It's not the same there without her. I am so grateful for the example and legacy my grandma left behind!

- Still glad that school will be starting soon, but also kind of sad at how fast summer REALLY has passed. I have been anxiously awaiting Aug. knowing that the kids would be back in school and we could return to some sort of "normal" routine! But now that Aug. is really almost here I'm starting to wonder where the summer went! I can't believe how time flies - Seriously!! Kind of sad that the kids are one "grade" older! They just don't stop growing up!

- So thankful I will not be paying for preschool each month next year! YEAH for kindergarten!!

- Thankful that the city finally got a clue and put water parks in around town. It is sooo HOT HOT HOT in the summer! Hallelujah for the splash pads!
